UniMac® attends Global Laundry Summit at the Food Hospitality World Show in Mumbai

The Food Hospitality World Show, held in Mumbai Jan. 19-21, targeted hospitality in general, and is a major growth driver for the professional laundry business as well. As part of the event, CINET (the international committee of textile care) organized the Global Laundry Summit on Jan 20, where six contributing suppliers presented their keys to speeding up development of the Indian Professional Textile Care (PTC) industry.

Currently, there is a good climate for business advancement in India, including an estimated 20% growth per year for the professional laundry and dry cleaning industry (Nielsen study). The major challenges are to organize the industry and improve its professionalism.

Gunjan Sharma, regional sales manager, presented several UniMac technologies that aim to support the industry in this development:

  • UniLinc®, the complete in-house laundry control system that gathers machine performance and maintenance data;
  • The cutting-edge OPTidry® Over-dry Prevention Technology that stops the tumble dryer when the ideal dryness level is reached, eliminating expenses associated with drying loads too long;
  • The OPTispray™ Rinsing Technology that provides highly effective rinsing, using less water and decreasing overall utility costs;
  • TotalVue®, the management software giving the ability to set goals and track results to identify strengths and weaknesses, while improving laundry performance.

The conference was attended by approximately 80 participants. Many attendees recognized that UniMac sets high standards and will be the vital player in the development of the Indian Professional Textile Care industry.
